Aftercare Advice

What you should and should not do after you've had your treatments

It is very important to understand and follow the aftercare advice given for the treatment. This is to ensure you gain maximum benefit from your treatment and keep good condition between maintenance appointments.

Acrylic Nail Extensions & Gel polish

  • Be careful with your nails - they are jewels not tools!

  • Always wear gloves to protect your nails whilst doing housework/gardening and avoid heat/fire - chemicals like acetone and those in cleaning products will adversely effect your nail extensions.

  • Avoid contact with moisturiser, sun cream or tanning oil products that contain Lanolin or Mineral Oil - these will weaken your acrylics and cause lifting.

  • Do not pick off your nail extensions, they should always be removed professionally to avoid damage to your natural nail.

  • Use cuticle oil daily - this nourishes and strengthens your natural nail.

  • Attend regular infill appointments, recommended every 2-3 weeks, to keep your nails in shape and looking their best.

Eyelash Extensions

  • Do not allow the extensions to be in contact with water/moisture for at least 24 hours - the water molecules will adversely effect the glue bonds and cause them to fall out.

  • Do not use steam rooms, saunas or sunbeds for 48 hours.

  • Clean eyelash extensions daily - it is very important to keep your lashes clean and the root area free of debris. This should be done daily and before infill appointments. See below our guide to Daily Eyelash Cleaning. Do not use cotton pads.

  • Do not rub or pick your eyelash extensions - they need to be removed professionally in order to avoid any damage to the natural lash.

  • Sleep on your back, sleeping on your lashes is the main cause of lash loss as unfortunately we cannot control what we do in our sleep - use of a 3D sleep mask is a great way to protect them.

  • Avoid using oil based products around eyes - this will cause retention issues by breaking down the adhesive. Use oil-free make up remover.

  • Do not apply mascara to your eyelash extensions - this will ruin your eyelash extensions, they will have to be removed and cannot be infilled. Do not use eyelash curlers.

  • Attend regular infill appointments, these are recommended every 2-3 weeks to keep your eyelashes full and fresh - full price will have to be charged for eyelashes not cared for correctly at infills.

Brow Lamination & Eyelash lift

  • Do not get eyebrows/eyelashes wet for at least 24 hours - avoid steam rooms, saunas, exercising, swimming or sunbeds during this time.

  • Do not use self tanning products on your face for 48 hours after the treatment.

  • Use brow/eyelash conditioner to keep your eyebrows in the best possible condition.

  • Do not apply make up to your lashes for at least 24 hours and avoid water proof mascara always. Do not use harsh products or use eyelash curlers on lashes.

  • Attend regular maintenance appointments - brow lamination/eyelash lift is recommended every 6-8 weeks and the tint every 2-4 weeks for top ups.

Waxing

  • Please allow at least 3-4 weeks of hair growth before your appointment to ensure successful removal.

  • Keep the waxed area clean, avoiding heat and friction for 24-48 hours. Which also includes:

  • No hot baths or showers, saunas, hot tubs, massage, swimming or steam treatments.

  • No tanning, sunbathing, sunbeds or fake tan.

  • Avoid exercise.

  • Do not apply any products to the area other than those recommended by your therapist.

  • To prevent in-grown hairs, a few days after your appointment, exfoliate the areas waxed using a dry brush or an exfoliating mitt. Continue a couple of times a week.

  • Its common and perfectly normal for the skin to have slight soreness, small bumps and redness after waxing. These symptoms should subside over 24-48 hours. If you experience persistent redness or irritation please do not hesitate to contact us.

Eyelash Cleaning Guide

It is very important to keep your eyelash extensions clean and make up free. This avoids any problems with regards to retention and potential infections or irritations. This must not be done in the first 24 hours of having the treatment.

  1. Cleansing your eyelashes must be done 2-3 times a week or daily if you wear make up regularly.

  2. Using only a lash extension foaming cleanser and a lash cleaning brush, gently massage the cleanser into the lashes using small circular motions.

  3. Pat the lashes dry with a tissue - do not rub or wipe.

  4. Softly brush through the lashes using a lash wand to separate once they are dry.
